Jackrabbits Defeat Rex in Two Game Series
The Kokomo Jackrabbits (9-8) gained a 6-2 victory over the leading Prospect League team, the Terre Haute Rex (14-3) Wednesday evening. The Jackrabbits took the away/home two game series 2-0.
#3 Mark Zimmerman (Baldwin Wallace University) scored a run in the bottom of the first, tying the game 1-1. #26 Evan Nelson (Western Michigan University) hit a RBI double and scored, giving the Jackrabbits a 2-1 lead.

In the seventh inning, #23 Sal Taormina (Kean University) hit a RBI double scoring #10 Chris Amato (Kean University) and Zimmerman.

#7 Reilly Hawkins (Kent State University) also hit a RBI double to score #25 Brad Hamilton (Kent State University) in the bottom of the eighth inning. Hawkins scored, moving the lead to 6-2.

Taormina was named Player of the Game for hitting two RBI double's and two RBI's.

Next, the Jackrabbits will host the Richmond RiverRats to begin a two game series at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The gates will open at 5:35 p.m. with the first pitch being thrown at 6:35 p.m. Police, fireman, and all other public servant’s will be honored at this game with a free stadium hot dog in part of the “Beer Garden Tour” home stand.
