KOKOMO, IND. – Five of six road games this week wrap up the Kokomo Jackrabbits’ 2016 pre-Prospect League all-star break schedule.

The lone remaining unbeaten on the PL’s second half standings, the Gold and Brown (4-0, 19-15 overall) take on Danville Tuesday, July 5, at 7:30 p.m.; Terre Haute Wednesday, July 6, at 7:05 p.m.; Hannibal at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, July 7; and league rival Lafayette at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, July 9, and 3:05 p.m. Sunday, July 10 away from home. The lone contest at Kokomo Municipal Stadium is Friday, July 8, when the Caveman of Hannibal visit for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

CELEBRATING AMERICA: Friday’s meeting with Hannibal concludes the franchise’s America Rocks promotion. The first 1,500 fans through the gates receive a free bracelet featuring the Jackrabbits’ logo and colors.

NEWS AND NOTES: Field manager Matt Howard’s squad begins the road swing leading Chillicothe by a half-game in the PL’s Eastern Division. It’s just as close in the West with Springfield edging DuPage by a half-game as well … Wayne State University’s Griffin Harms continues to command attention from opposing pitchers. Sporting a .342 batting average, he sits sixth on the league statistics. His 39 hits are seventh-highest, too … Other individuals among the top 10 offensively are the duo of infielder Caleb Stayton of Ball State University and outfielder Alex Del Rio of the University of Missouri who are tied for fourth in home runs (three) and infielder Logan Barnes of Indiana University-Southeast whose nine doubles are tied for ninth … Lock Haven University’s Mike Anthony is one of the top Prospect League hurlers. His 1.40 earned run average is second-lowest; his 45 innings pitched are at the head of the class; and he’s tied for the lead in wins (six). Relief pitcher Trey Bickel of Indiana University – South Bend is tied for sixth in saves (three).
