KOKOMO, IND- The Jackrabbits improve to 4-4 on the season against their in-state rival, Aviators.

The Aviators struck first, getting a run in the first inning on three hits. The Jackrabbits starter Chandler Coates had a solid outing but threw a lot of pitches in his five innings of work. Coates gave up two runs and seven hits while striking out four Aviator batters and earning the win for the Jackrabbits.

John Sechen came into tonight’s game with the 12th best batting average in the Prospect League. He improved his average to .322 after a solid night at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI. Colin Butkiewicz was the Coke Player of the Game with a three-hit night that included a walk and an RBI.

The bullpen which has been solid of late, struggled tonight, making for a nerve racking ending. They gave up a combined six runs in their four innings of work. Niksich came on in the ninth inning with a six-run cushion but allowed four runs to score before giving way to Payton Lannon. Lannon entered with the bases loaded, two outs and a two-run lead. He induced a fly ball to shallow center which ended a wild ninth inning and sealed the victory for the Jackrabbits.

The first place Jackrabbits have a well-deserved off day tomorrow and will be back in action at home on Thursday, July 26th against the Danville Dans.
