Kokomo Conquers Springfield Tuesday

The Springfield Sliders and Kokomo Jackrabbits met Tuesday, July 21st at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The Jackrabbits came away with a 4-3 win, moving their overall record to 23-22.
 
Kokomo got on the board in the third after #5 Chris Klenk’s (University of Cincinnati) sacrifice bunt scored #7 Riley Hawkins (Kent State University) to tie the game 1-1. Klenk then scored to give the Jackrabbits a 2-1 lead over the Sliders.
 
Klenk picked up another run in the fifth to extend Kokomo’s lead to 3-1.

The Sliders tied the game 3-3 in the seventh. #23 Sal Taormina (Kean University) brought the score to 4-3 after scoring on Klenk's knock in the eighth. Coca-Cola Player of the Game honors went to Klenk for his performance on the field Tuesday night.
 
The Jackrabbits will be on the road for the next five days to face the Danville Dans, Quincy Gems, and Hannibal Cavemen. They will return to their home stadium on Thursday, July 30th to kick off the Princess & Superheroes home stand against the Hannibal Cavemen at 6:35 p.m. Members of the military will be appreciated at the game with an honorary stadium hotdog. Also, guest princesses and superheroes will be at Kokomo Municipal Stadium to celebrate the event and host a pre-game tea party at 4:30 p.m.
