Gems Come Out on Top in Kokomo

July 2, 2015

The Kokomo Jackrabbits and Quincy Gems met again Wednesday night to complete a two game series at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The Gems gained a victory, defeating the Jackrabbits 5-2.
#3 Mark Zimmerman (Baldwin Wallace University) gave the Jackrabbits an early 1-0 lead after scoring in the first.

The fourth inning brought #34 Joe Hoscheit (Northwestern University) across the plate and Field Manager, Greg Van Horn out of the game. After a debate with an umpire, the coach was thrown out for the remainder of the game.

After picking up three runs between the eighth and ninth inning, the Gems broke the tied game and went home with a win. The two teams split the series 1-1.
The Jackrabbits will hit the road Thursday, July 2nd to begin a two game series against the Springfield Sliders in Springfield, Illinois. After four road games and a three day All-Star Break, Kokomo will be back at their home stadium on Friday, July 10th. This will begin the five-day “America Rocks” home stand with a firework show following the game.
