KOKOMO, IND- The first place Jackrabbits keep up their torrid pace, having won eight of their last ten games.

Mike Pachmayer did enough to take the win tonight. He went five and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs. Despite plating two runs, the Dans hitters struggled to find a rhythm against Pachmayer as he gave up just four hits on eight strikeouts. The Jackrabbits bullpen held strong giving up a lone run. Chase Nix earned the save on three innings of one-hit work, that included three strikeouts.

Tonight’s Coke Player of the game was right fielder Marcos Sanchez. Marcos got things started for the Jackrabbits with a two-run home run in a crucial second inning. A passed ball and fielding error led to two more runs in the inning for the Jackrabbits. Sanchez went 3-for-4 to improve his season average to .309.

Tonight’s win gives the Jackrabbits the best record in the Prospect League. The magic number to capture a playoff birth is now five. Up next is a two game weekend series in Butler. They will be back in Kokomo Sunday, July 31st to take on the Terre Haute Rex who currently hold a share of the lead in the West Division.
