KOKOMO, IND- As has become their method of operation, the Jackrabbits use a late offensive explosion to propel themselves to victory and win the Eastern Division title.

Josh Konecek loomed large for the second straight night. Tonight’s Coke Player of the game earned the win as he went three frames, giving up just two hits and striking out six. He ran into trouble in his first inning of work but pitched his way out of a jam and did not allow a hit in his final two innings on the mound.

Butkiewicz led the way in runs batted in for the Jackrabbits, collecting a pair in his two-hit performance. Dayson Croes did a little bit of everything on offense tonight. He reached base four times for the Jackrabbits, going 2-for-2 with an RBI, a couple of walks and a run scored.

With the win, Kokomo has booked a ticket to the Prospect League Championship series which will see them slated against the winner of the West Division Championship Series featuring the Danville Dans and the Terre Haute Rex. The championship series is currently scheduled to begin Thursday, August 9th. The Jackrabbits will begin the series on the road before heading back to Kokomo Municipal Stadium for two games which will be held Saturday, August 11th and Sunday, August 12th (if necessary).
