KOKOMO, IND- The Jackrabbits are beginning to look like a team who has forgotten how to lose as they surge back late to win again.

Andy Samuelson got the start tonight for his first home outing of the season. He was pulled after just three and two thirds innings allowing two runs on three hits. Braden Niksich was the winning pitcher after going an inning and a third, striking out three batters, without allowing a hit.

The team struggled early offensively amassing just four hits in the first five innings. Among those hits was an RBI single by last night’s hero Marcos Sanchez, which came in the third inning of the game and scored the first run for the Jackrabbits.

The sixth inning was the difference in this game as the Jackrabbits picked up three runs on three hits. Jacob Buchberger got the scoring started with a base hit that scored Wilson from second base. Two batters later Alex Dorethy stroked an RBI ground rule double and later scored off a Dalton Clarke single. The timely double was enough to earn Dorethy the Coke Player of the Game.

There will be a short turnaround for the Jackrabbits as they head to Chillicothe for game one of the divisional playoff series which will be played tomorrow (August 5th). The Jackrabbits will return to Kokomo, August 6th and 7th (if necessary) for games 2 and 3 of the series.
