Butler staff handcuffs Jackrabbits

July 27, 2016

BUTLER, PA. – A trio of Butler Bluesox pitchers consisting of David Lemasters, Zach Patterson and Nolan Krivijanski proved tough to figure out for the visiting Kokomo Jackrabbits Wednesday, July 27.

Butler’s pitching combination struck out 15 Gold and Brown hitters to wrap up a seven-hit shutout at Kelly Automotive Park. Infielder Logan Barnes of Indiana University – Southeast tallied two hits to lead Kokomo’s offense.

Meanwhile, on the mound, it was a tough evening for starting hurler Evan Lovick of Baldwin-Wallace University, as the Blue Sox struck for four runs over the first two frames. Despite the 7-0 loss which opened a two-game set between the two Prospect League sides, the Jackrabbits (12-9 PL second half, 27-24 overall) kept a half-game Eastern Division lead on a surging Champion City Kings club that’s won four in a row.

Kokomo and Butler wrap up the series Thursday, July 28. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
