KOKOMO, IND- Jackrabbits find a way to win in a back and forth contest hat marks their first ever Prospect League playoff victory.

Tonight’s starter Chandler Coates had more than earned the ‘ace’ title with an 8-1 record and an ERA of 1.79 during the regular season. He was impressive at times tonight with eight strikeouts in just three and a third innings. Unfortunately, he also gave up seven hits, three walks, and three runs, leading to the high pitch count that got him pulled early in the game.

The Jackrabbits bullpen performance was two-man effort. Chase Nix earned the win for the Jackrabbits while giving up two runs in three and two thirds innings of relief. Josh Konecek got the save in two innings of work during which he gave up just one hit and one walk.

The offensive hero was Ian Walters who collected a Prospect League record three triples in the game. Walters, the Coke Player of the Game went 3-for-4 notching a couple of RBIs on top of the triples. Dayson Croes played well collecting a triple of his own in a 2-for-4 night with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

The deciding game of the series will take place tomorrow night (August 7th) at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. Mike Pachmayer is slated to take the mound for the Jackrabbits.
